As a true (old) millennial who totally grew up on MTV Cribs, my obsession with celebrity homes definitely outweighed my interest in their personal lives. After a while, however, I got sick of all the over-the-top homes where everything is gold-leaf and Ferraris rather than something inviting and cosy! So today I thought it would be refreshing to see some “real” celebrity homes for a change.

Since most celebs have the luxury to hire an interior designer, I’ve enjoyed watching them share a glimpse into the results of these collaborations. Below, I’ve rounded up seven of my favorite celebrity + interior designer duos that have recently worked together to create some seriously inspiring spaces. I think these designs are all intriguing and unique in their own way.

Diane Keaton

While she’s typically recognized for her work as an Acadamy award-winning actress, I was surprised to discover that Diane Keaton’s talents extend far beyond the red carpet. As her most recent masterpiece shows, Keaton also has a knack for flipping homes and transforming dated structures into dreamy sanctuaries. With counsel from her network of designers, architects and builder friends, Keaton most recently designed her 8,000 square-foot dream home in Los Angeles, California. The rustic farmhouse exhibits multifaceted elements of design, including a polished, sleek bathroom, industrial dining space, and minimalistic kitchenette. I also love the black, white and softwood juxtaposition happening here.

Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff’s vibrant LA home is what dreams are made of. Between the abundance of natural light, use of bright whites and warm woods, Duff’s house is the quintessence of California cool. With the help of Studio Life/Style designers Shannon Wollack and Brittany Zwickl, eclectic accents are sprinkled throughout the home, including a gorgeous vintage runner made by combining three Turkish rugs.

Lucy Liu

When actress Lucy Liu sat down to design her Manhattan apartment, she sought to create a space that would meet the needs of the entire family. With help from Nicole Fisher at The Studio at One Kings Lane, Liu selected furniture with round edges and cosy (spill-proof) fabrics, safe for her son Rockwell to play with. Each room maintains a monochromatic color palette using soft shades of blue, gray, white and brown. The neutrality of the color scheme kept things from feeling hectic once Rockwell’s colorful toys and books were added to the mix. Liu also installed three Oeuf storage pieces to organize his markers, crayons, paint, and more. End result: the most sophisticated playroom I’ve ever seen!

Lauren Conrad

Overlooking the Pacific Palisades, Lauren Conrad and her husband Wiliam Tell reside in their light-filled haven which is tucked away in the hills of California. After undergoing a recent renovation, LC’s home feels light, inviting, fresh and airy. The kitchen (designed by Katherine Carter) features white subway tiling, open shelving, and gorgeous marble countertops. Conrad says she found several mid-century modern pieces and vintage chairs from Chairish.

Brooklyn Decker

Actress from season 2 of Grace and Frankie, Brooklyn Decker and her Tennis Hall-of-Fame husband Andy Roddick took the road less traveled when they renovated their Texas farmhouse. Instead of hiring a top-rated designer, Decker opted to undertake the massive project and redesigned the 5-bedroom, 5.5 bath home all herself. From the kitchen, which she calls the heart of the home, to the room-sized walk-in closet, Decker’s passion for design can be seen in every space of the house. Meaningful decor elements are scattered in each room, like the 10-foot-long dining table Decker’s brother handmade for her as a wedding gift, and Donny Miller‘s Universe Series print hung as wall art.

Pierce Brown

Pierce Brown, the author of sci-fi series Red Rising, has officially upped the ante of today’s bachelor pad expectations. In collaboration with Joyce Downing Pickens of JDP Interiors, Brown styled his recently built home with natural woods, graphic accents, and modern pieces. Statement items include a 200-pound custom dining table and a black-and-white drum table from West Elm.

Jenna Lyons

I’m curious, which style do you gravitate towards the most? Are you a Diane, a Lauren, or a Jenna?

PS: I love Hillary Duff’s style, and Lucy Liu’s! <3
